Samsung Electronics announced that Samsung and Google will collaborate to launch a new Wear OS smartwatch operating system on Thursday.

At the Google I/O 2021 conference held on May 19, Google said its Wear OS is being merged with Samsung's Tizen smartwatch software to create a unified platform for wearable devices.
The Wear OS with the upgraded "unified platform" will be able to launch watch apps 30% faster and extend battery life significantly. Some of the 24/7 health monitoring features will become more reliable with extensive system optimizations for low-power hardware sensors.

This partnership is a significant change for Samsung, which has been using Tizen OS for years.
