GAVI in talks with COVID-19 vaccine makers including China's Sinopharm for COVAX doses

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, says it is in talks with COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers including Chinese state-owned drugmaker Sinopharm Group Co. Ltd., to expand the pipeline of the worldwide initiative COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) and secure doses for distribution, according to Reuters reported on Monday.

The Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine was listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 7 May. After approval, Sinopharm's COVID-19 vaccine can be rolled out globally.
