EVA Air signs deal with Airbus to introduce 33 passenger planes at cost of about $10 billion

Asia Tech Wire (Oct 22) -- Taiwan's Eva Airways officially signed a contract with Airbus on Monday to spend about US$10 billion to bring in 33 passenger planes.

Clay Sun, general manager of EVA Air, said at a press conference Monday that the company decided to introduce 33 latest-generation passenger planes at the end of last year.

The deal includes 18 long-range A350-1000s and 15 single-aisle A321neo.

EVA Air revealed that the A350-1000s, after expected delivery in the first quarter of 2027, will operate on long-haul North American routes, while the A321neo will fly regional routes after expected delivery in 2029.
