Asian Tech Press (Feb 28) -- China's Foreign Ministry responded to whether Huawei, Xiaomi and other Chinese technology companies will comply with the sanctions against Russia.

A reporter asked at Monday's regular press conference whether Chinese companies such as Huawei and Xiaomi will comply with U.S. sanctions against Russia and stop shipping to it.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wenbin Wang said that China is not in favor of using sanctions to solve problems, and is even more opposed to unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law.

"We demand that the U.S. should not harm the legitimate rights and interests of China and other parties when dealing with the Ukraine issue and relations with Russia," Wang said.
