China's BYD sells over 590,000 new energy vehicles in 2021

Asian Tech Press (Jan 4) -- Chinese automaker BYD Co Ltd (BYDDF: OTC US) have sold more than 590,000 new energy vehicles in 2021, up 231.6% year-on-year.

The Chinese car company announced its December 2021 sales on Monday. The data shows that BYD sold 97,990 units of its entire passenger vehicle lineup in the month, a 77.9% jump year-on-year.

And the sales of new energy passenger vehicles surged 236.4% year-on-year to 92,823 units in December, breaking the 90,000-unit record for the second consecutive month.

BYD's passenger car sales reached 730,093 units for 2021, up 75.4% year-on-year. And its new energy passenger car sales for 2021 rose 231.6% year-on-year to 593,745 units.
