Alphabet's Waymo to expand robotaxi service areas in San Francisco, Los Angeles
Aug.7,2024

Asia Tech Wire (Aug 7) -- Waymo, Alphabet's self-driving unit, said Tuesday it will expand its robotaxi service areas in San Francisco and Los Angeles to meet growing customer demand.

Google parent Alphabet said last month it would invest an additional $5 billion in Waymo.

Waymo announced in June that it was opening its autonomous ride-hailing service to all San Francisco customers.

Following Waymo's robotaxi service is available to the public in Phoenix starting in 2020, San Francisco becomes the second city where anyone can hail a driverless car.
