On September 1st, WeRide announced that its first batch of Robotaxi GXRs had arrived in Singapore and commenced testing, marking the first such autonomous vehicle model to be deployed in Southeast Asia. These Robotaxi GXRs are currently undergoing simulated road testing at the Centre for Autonomous Driving Testing and Research (CETRAN) at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to assess their performance and safety on Singapore's public roads in preparation for obtaining M1 certification. Following approval, the vehicles are expected to be deployed on designated public roads by the end of 2025. WeRide will operate the vehicles in partnership with a leading regional mobility service provider, providing support for future large-scale commercialization.
