The three major U.S. stock indexes rose collectively at the close, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.85%, the Nasdaq up 0.31%, and the S&P 500 up 0.64%. Hot technology stocks rose and fell, with Tesla falling more than 4%, Nvidia and Amazon falling more than 1%. Non-ferrous metals, solar energy, and tourism services sectors led the gains, with Canadian Solar up more than 5%, Carnival Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line up more than 4%, and Alcoa up more than 3%.
