The three major U.S. stock indexes closed mixed, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.04%, the Nasdaq up 0.38%, and the S&P 500 up 0.14%. Precious metals, metals and mining sectors led the gains, with Century Aluminum up more than 9%, American Silver Corporation and Pan American Silver up nearly 5%, and Hecla Mining up more than 4%. Most popular technology stocks rose, with Google up more than 2%, Meta, Broadcom, and Amazon up more than 1%. The oil and gas and lithium battery sectors led the declines, with Houston Energy down more than 10% and American Energy down more than 4%.
