On August 22nd, the "Code-Based Verification of Online Product Quality and Safety 'Code Action' Initiative" was held in Beijing, marking the official launch of a pilot program for coding and verifying the quality and safety of key online products. Deng Zhiyong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation and Director of the National Standards Committee, attended and addressed the event, which was chaired by Chief Engineer Liu Min. Officials from the Beijing and Zhejiang Provincial Market Supervision Bureaus and representatives from two platform companies shared their views. Officials from the Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Sichuan, and Hunan Provincial Market Supervision Bureaus, as well as relevant departments and subordinate units of the State Administration, attended the meeting. Ten platforms—Taobao, Kuaishou, Pinduoduo, Douyin, JD.com, Suning.com, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Vipshop, and Tencent—jointly issued an initiative to conscientiously fulfill their responsibilities for coding and verification, ensure strict product entry and review processes, and jointly create a safe and secure online consumer environment.
