On August 25, a reporter from Investment Express noticed that Moutai's Maotai Maotai-flavor liquor (Maotai 1935) was available for pre-sale on its flagship stores on Taobao and JD.com. The 53% alcohol, 500ml bottle was priced at 998 yuan per bottle. The JD.com Maotai Maotai-flavor liquor flagship store indicated that 48 bottles had already been sold. According to industry insiders, the pre-sale period is three days, with the product officially launching on August 28. Public data indicates that Moutai 1935 officially launched in January 2022 and achieved sales of 28 billion yuan over the three years ending in 2024. However, prices have been declining since 2023. Currently, the price of Moutai 1935 on e-commerce platforms has fallen below 600 yuan per bottle. On JD.com, the price has dropped to 519 yuan per bottle, a 56.31% drop from the retail guide price of 1,188 yuan per bottle and a 71% drop from its historical high of 1,800 yuan per bottle.
