According to CCTV News, the plane carrying the detained South Korean citizens is scheduled to depart the United States at noon local time on the 11th. On the 4th of this month, US immigration officials conducted a raid on a battery plant jointly operated by Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution in Georgia, arresting 475 undocumented workers, including over 300 South Korean citizens. Subsequently, South Korea and the US reached an agreement on the voluntary departure of the detained individuals and their return to South Korea on chartered flights. On the 7th, South Korean Consul General in Washington, Cho Ki-jung, stated that the over 300 detained South Korean citizens would be returned to South Korea on a chartered flight as early as the 10th local time. The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 10th that the charter flight scheduled to depart that day to repatriate the detained South Korean citizens would be postponed due to certain circumstances on the US side.
