On January 3, the 2024 Annual Summary Report Meeting on Compliance Governance of Online Sales of Medical Devices was held in Beijing. Relevant departments of the National Medical Products Administration and provincial-level drug regulatory departments such as Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Sichuan reported on the supervision of online sales of medical devices. Platform companies such as Xiaohongshu, Baidu, JD.com, Meituan, Pinduoduo, and Douyin introduced the results of their work in compliance governance. The meeting fully affirmed the results of compliance governance of online sales of medical devices in 2024, deeply analyzed the existing problems and challenges, and further clarified the goals and tasks of compliance governance and supervision of online sales of medical devices. The meeting emphasized the need to focus on key products that are of concern to the public and have a wide range of applications, increase monitoring and disposal efforts, study and innovate compliance governance mechanisms for online sales of medical devices, support platform companies to strengthen the construction of compliance governance quality management systems, and jointly promote the high-quality development of online sales of medical devices to effectively ensure the safety of public use of medical devices.
