The Hong Kong SAR government will provide more than HK$10 billion in funding for the development of artificial intelligence
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee attended the opening ceremony of the 16th Cross-Strait and Hong Kong and Macao Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar hosted by the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong yesterday and delivered a speech. John Lee said that Hong Kong is actively developing the artificial intelligence industry, promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and is committed to building an international innovation and technology center. In terms of financial support, Hong Kong has launched a special funding plan for artificial intelligence of HK$3 billion (IT Home Note: the current exchange rate is approximately RMB 2.748 billion) to subsidize local colleges, research and development institutions and enterprises in Hong Kong to use the computing power of the supercomputing center to promote scientific research breakthroughs; and will set up a "Innovation and Technology Industry Guidance Fund" with a scale of HK$10 billion (the current exchange rate is approximately RMB 9.16 billion) to strengthen the guidance of market funds and promote the development of strategic emerging and future industries such as AI and robots.
