South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 10th that a charter flight scheduled to depart that day to repatriate detained South Korean citizens would be postponed due to circumstances on the US side. The South Korean government is coordinating with the US side to expedite the departure of the charter flight. On the 4th, US immigration officials conducted a raid in Georgia on a battery plant jointly operated by Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution, arresting 475 undocumented workers, including over 300 South Korean citizens. Subsequently, South Korea and the US reached an agreement on the voluntary departure of the detained individuals and their return to South Korea on charter flights. On the 7th, South Korean Consul General in Washington, Cho Ki-joong, announced that the over 300 detained South Korean citizens would be repatriated on a charter flight as early as the 10th local time.
