Some hospitals have invested nearly 10 million yuan in AI, and leading hospitals are still waiting to see the big model of medical AI.
In the first half of this year, medical AI big models have become a hot track for hospitals to compete for layout. So far, top three hospitals including Shanghai Zhongshan, Ruijin, and Renji have all released AI models in different disease fields such as cardiovascular, pathology, and urology, and companies that provide software and computing power support for these big models have gradually surfaced. The reporter learned from the interview that there are not many top three hospitals that pay for AI medical big models. Through public information search, the reporter found that most of the millions of yuan budget for purchasing medical big models are local government procurement projects. Changzhou First People's Hospital has launched two public tenders in the first half of this year to purchase AI medical big model platforms, with an overall budget of nearly 10 million yuan. Industry insiders told the reporter of China Business Network that AI medical models have shown application potential in vertical fields such as pathology, but they still face many challenges in the application and deployment of more general large language models (LLMs).
