SK Hynix's market share surpassed Samsung in the first quarter
According to statistics from market research firm CFM, driven by the recovery of AI server demand and PC and mobile demand, coupled with the combined impact of some inventory replenishment demand triggered by tariffs, DRAM overall performed better than expected in the first quarter of 2025, with the global DRAM market size increasing by 42.5% year-on-year to US$26.729 billion, down 8.5% from the previous quarter. During this period, SK Hynix, with its absolute advantage in the HBM field, ended Samsung's more than 40 years of market dominance and topped the global DRAM market for the first time with a market share of 36.7%.
