On July 9, local time, the Polish Ministry of Defense announced that it had signed a contract worth 430 million zlotys (about 850 million yuan) with the Polish-Israeli consortium (composed of Polish KenBIT and Israeli ELTA Systems) to purchase 18 ELM-2238X STAR-X radar systems, which are scheduled to be delivered from 2027 to 2030. The radar system will be deployed on the Polish coast to monitor maritime and low-altitude targets. Polish Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the radar has three-coordinate detection capabilities, can track multiple sea and air targets at the same time, and cooperate with the Polish Navy's existing and future combat units (such as new frigates) to achieve 24-hour monitoring and enhance threat identification and deterrence capabilities.
