Representatives of more than 20 American companies, including Tesla, GE Healthcare, and Medtronic, attended the meeting. Ling Ji emphasized that in recent days, the United States has announced the abuse of tariffs on all trading partners, including China, under various excuses, which seriously damaged the rules-based multilateral trading system and seriously infringed the legitimate rights and interests of all countries. The Chinese government strongly condemns and firmly opposes this, and has taken decisive measures to counter it. China's countermeasures are not only to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of companies, including American companies, but also to urge the United States to return to the right track of the multilateral trading system. The root of the tariff problem lies in the United States. It is hoped that American companies will trace the source, clarify the cause and effect, make rational voices, take practical actions, and jointly maintain the stability of the global production and supply chain and promote win-win cooperation.
