Microsoft's Russian subsidiary to file for bankruptcy
A Microsoft subsidiary in Russia plans to file for bankruptcy, according to a document published on Friday in the official Russian Federal Registry of Resources. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week that foreign service providers such as Microsoft and Zoom should be "restricted" from operating in Russia to make way for local software solutions. Microsoft continued to provide key services in Russia after the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but in June 2022 the company said it would significantly reduce its operations in Russia due to changes in the economic outlook and the impact on its business in Russia. Microsoft Rus LLC intends to declare bankruptcy, according to a document published on Friday by the Federal Registry of Resources.
