Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang mentioned his ecosystem partner's investment in the U.S. during the company's earnings call for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 on Wednesday.
TSMC's TSMC Arizona U.S. advanced manufacturing facility program has expanded to six wafer fabs and two advanced packaging facilities, and one of its main demander parties is Nvidia.
Huang said process certification for TSMC Arizona is underway, and Nvidia's chips are expected to be in volume production within the year.
TSMC Arizona's first fab now in operation has the ability to manufacture chips with 5nm to 4nm processes, and given the market demand, the first Nvidia products will likely be Blackwell architecture AI GPUs.
Huang also said that other members of the Nvidia AI ecosystem, such as OSAT partners Siliconware, Amkor is investing in Arizona to set up factories, and downstream server manufacturers Hon Hai and Wistron are also building supercomputer manufacturing plants in Houston and Dallas, Texas, respectively.
