JD Logistics, the logistics arm of Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com, announced that its first self-owned overseas warehouse in Japan and South Korea officially opened for operation on Wednesday.
Located in Japan's Chiba Prefecture, JD Logistics' No.1 warehouse in Tokyo, Japan, can store millions of items.
According to JD Logistics, the warehouse has invested in a variety of advanced automation equipment, such as hundreds of warehousing robots, sorting robots and automated operation lines, etc., which can increase efficiency by more than 100% compared with the traditional manual operation mode.
Upon formal operation, the No.1 warehouse in Tokyo will provide integrated e-commerce and one-panel supply chain logistics services for Japanese and Korean enterprises as well as Chinese brands going overseas to Japan and South Korea.
JD Logistics said that in the next 2-3 years, it will continue to lay out a number of self-owned overseas warehouses in the local area, and build international routes linking many countries, and continue to build the Asia-Pacific region's "2-3 day" time-sensitive circle.
