Google CEO Pichai's personal wealth exceeds $1 billion
Google parent Alphabet reported revenue that beat expectations on Wednesday, the latest milestone in the company's explosive growth since the beginning of 2023. During that time, the company has added more than $1 trillion in market value, giving investors a return of about 120%. It also made CEO Sundar Pichai a billionaire. With Alphabet's shares near all-time highs, Pichai, 53, is now worth $1.1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. It's a rare achievement for non-founding CEOs, especially in the tech industry, where many executives, including Meta Platforms' (META.O) Zuckerberg and Nvidia's Huang Renxun, have made their fortunes from founding stakes in their respective companies. Although Pichai was not present when Google was founded in 1998, he became the longest-serving CEO this month and will mark his 10th anniversary in August.
