Germany expresses concerns about Amazon's price-fixing mechanism

According to a statement released by the German antitrust regulator, the German Federal Cartel Office expressed concerns about Amazon's use of so-called price control mechanisms. Currently, retailers selling products on the Amazon trading platform are not allowed to exceed a specific price cap set by Amazon. The regulator pointed out in its preliminary opinion that this may constitute an abuse of special terms for large digital companies and also violate the general abuse clause. Amazon now has the opportunity to respond to these allegations.
