Ericsson and Vodafone sign five-year programmable networks partnership

On October 24th, Ericsson and Vodafone announced a five-year strategic partnership. Ericsson will become Vodafone's sole RAN supplier in Ireland, the Netherlands, and Portugal, while continuing to serve as Vodafone's primary RAN supplier in Germany, Romania, and Egypt. Under the partnership, Vodafone will extensively deploy Ericsson's advanced, Open RAN-compatible Massive MIMO radio products, RAN Compute solutions, and 5G Advanced RAN software capabilities across its networks in these markets.
