D-Wave CEO says Jensen Huang is dead wrong about quantum computing

Alan Baratz, CEO of D-Wave Quantum, a U.S. quantum computing company, said in a recent interview that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's views on quantum computing are "dead wrong."

Huang's comments on Tuesday that it would take at least 15 more years for quantum computers to achieve adoption spooked Wall Street, causing related stocks including D-Wave to plummet.

Baratz said that companies including Mastercard and Japan's NTT are using D-Wave's quantum computers in production, "not 30 years from now, not 20 years from now, not 15 years from now. But right now today."

He said that although Huang's "comments may not be totally off-base for gate model quantum computers, well, they are 100% off base for annealing quantum computers."

"l'll be happy to meet with Jensen any time, any place, to help fill in these gaps for him."
