On March 6, at the open group meeting of the Anhui delegation, Guo Guoping, deputy to the National People's Congress and deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Quantum Information of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that quantum technology is the world's cutting-edge technology, a "root" technology of great importance, a typical representative of new quality productivity, and one of the future industries determined by the country. Guo Guoping made three suggestions based on the practice of quantum computing research and industrialization: adopt a strategy of combining "government guidance and market drive" to develop quantum computing, and insist on "walking on two legs". Quantum computing has a long R&D cycle and large investment, and it requires the coordinated efforts of the government and the market. Promote the development of the "four-computing integration" of general computing, supercomputing, intelligent computing and quantum computing. Promote the deployment of independent quantum computers in key state-owned enterprises, universities and key cities, promote domestic quantum computer operating systems and programming languages, and cultivate user habits. Accelerate the cultivation of China's independent quantum computer production and manufacturing chain, with leading enterprises as the core, cultivate and coordinate upstream and downstream enterprises in the quantum computing industry, jointly tackle key quantum computing software and hardware, guide the layout of quantum chips required for quantum computing manufacturing, and enhance the autonomous controllability of quantum computing production and manufacturing. Systematically plan a multi-level quantum computing education and training system, and use "Chinese chopsticks" to cultivate quantum computing research, application and technical talents.

Chinese scientists achieve new record of "quantum computing superiority" in superconducting system

Pan Jianwei, Zhu Xiaobo, Peng Chengzhi and other researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China, in cooperation with the Shanghai Quantum Science Research Center, the Henan Provincial Key Laboratory of Quantum Information and Quantum Cryptography, the China Institute of Metrology, the Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology, the School of Microelectronics of Xidian University, and the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, have successfully built a 105-bit (including 105 readable bits and 182 coupled bits) superconducting quantum computing prototype "Zu Chongzhi No. 3", which has achieved rapid solution to quantum random circuit sampling tasks. Compared with the existing optimal classical algorithm, "Zu Chongzhi No. 3" processes quantum random circuit sampling problems 15 orders of magnitude faster (10 to the 15th power times) than the fastest supercomputer currently, and 6 orders of magnitude (10 to the 6th power times) faster than the latest results published by Google in October 2024. This achievement is the second time that my country has broken the record of quantum computing superiority of superconducting systems after the superconducting quantum computing prototype "Zu Chongzhi No. 2" achieved the strongest quantum computing superiority of superconducting quantum computing systems. The relevant results were published online in the international academic journal Physical Review Letters on March 3, Beijing time.
