Counterpoint: Xiaomi ranks third in global smartphone shipments in Q3, Pro series contributes half of iPhone sales

Counterpoint today released a report on smartphone data for each region in Q3 2024, saying that the global smartphone market grew 2% year-on-year in the quarter, with shipments reaching 307 million units. Specifically, the following characteristics are presented: global smartphone revenue grew 10% year-on-year, and the average selling price grew 7%. Both revenue and average selling price hit record highs. Samsung shipments continued to lead the market, accounting for 19% of sales. Apple led in revenue and set its highest record for third-quarter shipments, revenue and average selling price. Xiaomi ranked third, with revenue growth exceeding the growth rate of shipments. OPPO ranked fourth. vivo had the fastest year-on-year growth among the top five mobile phone brand manufacturers. The world's best-selling smartphone in the quarter was the iPhone 15, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro. In the third quarter, the iPhone Pro series contributed half of the total iPhone sales. In the third quarter of 2024, the top 10 models accounted for 19% of the global smartphone market sales.
