The State Administration for Market Regulation disclosed on January 24 that BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products. It has been decided to recall some Formula Leopard 5 plug-in hybrid vehicles produced between October 16, 2023 and February 1, 2024, totaling 6,843 vehicles, from January 24, 2025. For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to manufacturing reasons, the bolts of the internal electrical connectors of the integrated dual-motor controller may not be tightened, causing the bolt connection points to loosen and arc during vehicle use. In extreme cases, it causes smoke and fire, posing a safety hazard. BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. will authorize Shenzhen Formula Leopard New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. to replace the integrated dual-motor controller for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
