On March 25, Waymo, Alphabet's self-driving car company, said it plans to launch a fully autonomous ride-hailing service in Washington, D.C., next year. Waymo began deploying vehicles to Washington, D.C. in January this year and will deploy more vehicles in the coming weeks. Since Washington, D.C. currently does not allow fully autonomous driving, the company said it will work closely with policymakers to formally establish the legal framework required for driverless driving.
