All three major US stock indices closed up over 1%. The Nasdaq rose 1.37%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.12%, and the S&P 500 rose 1.07%. Large technology stocks rose across the board. Strong demand for the iPhone 17 pushed Apple's stock up about 4% to a new high. Netflix rose over 3%, Intel and Meta rose over 2%, Tesla, Google, and Amazon rose over 1%, Microsoft rose slightly, and Nvidia fell slightly. Most popular Chinese concept stocks rose. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index closed up 2.39%. iQiyi rose over 8%, NIO rose nearly 5%, Kingsoft Cloud rose over 4%, Alibaba rose nearly 4%, and Bilibili and Baidu rose nearly 2%.
