ECB President Christine Lagarde stated: "With regard to stablecoins, the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) addresses this risk in two ways. First, stablecoin issuers must allow EU investors to always redeem their holdings at par value. Second, stablecoin issuers must hold a significant portion of their reserves in bank deposits."
