Asian Tech Press -- The number of cryptocurrency users worldwide has reached 221 million as of June 2021, according to data from the Crypto.com's research report.

The report said it took only four months to increase from100 million users to 200 million ones.

The growth in users that began in January and February of this year was driven more by Bitcoin. But since May it has been driven by altcoin adoption.

Thanks to altcoin adoption, the number of users increased from 142 million at the end of April to 221 million in June, a surge of nearly 80 million new users, most of whom are interested in tokens like Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Dogecoin (DOGE), the report said.
