Asia Tech Wire (Sep 25) -- Microsoft announced Tuesday that it will invest $1.3 billion over the next three years to build cloud computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Mexico.

The investment will serve to improve connectivity and facilitate the adoption of AI technologies by small and medium-sized businesses, the company said in a statement.

Microsoft hopes the investment will benefit 5 million Mexicans and 30,000 local SMEs within three years.
