eBay shares rose nearly 10% Wednesday after Facebook parent Meta announced it will test displaying eBay merchandise listings on Facebook Marketplace.
Meta said it will launch a test in Germany, France and the U.S. that will allow buyers to browse eBay items on Facebook Marketplace and then complete transactions on eBay.
Last November, the European Commission fined Meta $840 million for abusing its market position to benefit Facebook Marketplace.
Meta said the company is still appealing the European Commission's decision on Facebook Marketplace, but is working to resolve the issues raised.
