Asia Tech Wire (Aug 6) -- Toyota supplier Denso has begun accepting orders for its automated tomato harvesting robot in Europe.
Denso is also currently discussing the sale of the harvesting robot, called Artemy, within Japan.
The robot, developed by Denso with its Dutch subsidiary Certhon Build B.V., can automatically travel through plastic greenhouses and pick tomatoes with scissors if the AI determines they are ripe.
Denso said it used image recognition and safe driving techniques cultivated in the manufacture of automotive parts in the development of Artemy.
