On May 25, 2021, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi was invited to attend the "China Session" of the Munich Security Conference in Beijing by video and delivered a speech.
Wang Yi said that the China-EU comprehensive agreement on investment is highly mutually beneficial and not a unilateral favor or gift. At the same time, the Xinjiang-related issues are relevant to China's sovereignty and security. Some parties in Europe have arbitrarily linked issues of different nature and politicized trade and economic matters, which is unacceptable and absolutely unworkable. China-Europe cooperation is the general trend. Engaging in political confrontation and economic decoupling between China and Europe is not in the interests of the European side, nor is it likely to last.
