VW builds its third EV plant in China

Volkswagen Group (China) has officially started the construction of the VW MEB plant in Hefei, Anhui Province.

The plant is the Group's third pure EV plant in China after SAIC-VW in Anting and FAW-VW in Foshan, which will use green energy in its future production.

The plant is scheduled to be completed by mid-2022, with the first model going into production in late 2023. By 2025, Volkswagen Group (China) plans to deliver around 1.5 million new energy vehicles per year.
