Twitter announced Monday that it has shut down four accounts in India to comply with the latest legal requirements of the Indian government.

A Twitter spokesperson said that it evaluates it against its own rules and local laws when the company receives an explicit legal request. If it does violate the laws of certain regions but not Twitter's rules, it will individually ban people from accessing content within India. (Sina Finance)
