Toyota to invest $3.4 billion for auto batteries in U.S. through 2030

Asian Tech Press (Oct 18) -- Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp.'s north American unit said Monday it will invest about $3.4 billion (380 billion yen) in the development and production of U.S. automotive batteries by 2030.

In the announcement, Toyota also said it plans to set up a new company and a new car battery plant with Toyota's metal trading subsidiary Toyota Tsusho in the United States.
