Ma Huateng (South China Morning Post)
On the morning of March 4, Ma Huateng, CEO of Tencent, appeared at the discussion site of the Guangdong delegation at China’s Two Sessions, as a deputy to the National People’s Congress (NPC). This is also his first appearance after disappearing from the public eye for nearly 2 years due to a recurrence of his back injury.
In the upcoming 2021 NPC, Ma intends to submit a number of written proposals on rural revitalization, new employment, carbon neutrality, digital governance, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, ecological protection and other areas, reflecting his concerns and thoughts on China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and Vision 2035.
