Asian Tech Press (OCT 18) -- According to media reports, game developer SpacePirate disclosed that Valve's game and software platform Steam had launched new rules. Games that use blockchain or allow the exchange of NFT and cryptocurrency will be banned from the Steam store.

SpacePirate, a developer of NFT-based games, said that Valve's rules for publishing content on Steam now include that applications built on blockchain technology "should not publish or allow cryptocurrency or NFT exchange." SpacePirate says Steam's point is that they don't allow real value items to exist on the platform. But SpacePirate sees NFT and blockchain gaming as the future.

NFT allows the ownership of unique digital items to be bought and sold, representing "irreplaceable tokens." Still, the concept is also highly controversial and can easily be used to commit fraud.
