Asian Tech Press (Oct 22) -- People familiar with the matter denied a Reuters report on Friday that said Tencent's WeChat has made its content searchable on some foreign search engines such as Alphabet's Google and Microsoft's Bing.

The sources told ATP that Tencent's content is not actually open to Google and Bing, but rather that there is a small loophole in the system that allows other search engines to capture the content through crawlers, and that such a loophole may be fixed subsequently.

ATP checks showed that if a link of WeChat content was copied into Google Chrome, the content page could be opened smoothly. However, when the title of the content is searched on Google, no content from the leading social platform can be searched.

Thus, it seems that WeChat content still is not searchable on Google directly through the title.
