Chinese autonomous vehicle firm Neolix Technologies announced that it had completed its Series B funding round, jointly led by CICC and SoftBank Ventures Asia, with follow-on investment from its existing shareholders Yunqi Capital and Glory Ventures. The round of financing will be used for the scale expansion of the driverless car service network.
Founded in February 2018, Neolix Technologies has obtained the right-of-way in several Chinese cities, including Beijing. It has delivered and deployed nearly 1,000 autonomous vehicles in 9 countries and more than 30 cities worldwide, with a cumulative safe driving mileage of over 1.3 million kilometers and over 1 million orders delivered to over 300,000 users.
With the surge in urban delivery labor costs, increasing demand for instant consumption from the younger users, and the rise in demand for zero-touch delivery due to the epidemic impact, a growing number of urban residents need faster, lower-cost, and higher-quality retail solutions.
At present, Neolix has partnered with hundreds of restaurants and retail companies such as Pizza Hut and KFC and is in regular operation in more than ten cities for C-end consumers in open road scenarios.
In addition to retail scenarios, Neolix is gradually expanding its autonomous vehicle service network to logistics, urban services, and other diversified fields while accelerating its entry into overseas markets.
