Asian Tech Press (Oct 14) -- Rumors spread on Weibo, China's largest social media platform, on Thursday that a senior Huawei executive had cheated on his wife and threatened his affair partner to get an abortion.

The executive, who is embroiled in the sex scandal, is Will Zhang, president of corporate strategy at Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

According to blog posts on China's Twitter-like platform Weibo by the woman suspected to be his cheating partner, she had given birth to Zhang's child in September this year.

However, the account is currently unsearchable on Weibo and few people are talking about the related topic. Some Chinese netizens posted, "Is (the topic) pulled by PR so fast?"

As of press time, Huawei has not made any response to the scandal.
