Samsung introduced on Thursday the industry’s first 0.64-micrometer (μm)-pixel image sensor, the 50-megapixel (Mp) Samsung ISOCELL JN1, according to news from its official website.

The company said its size is 16% smaller than a 0.7μm-pixel image sensor, and it can reduce the height of the camera module by around 10%.

The JN1 employs ISOCELL 2.0 technology with added enhancements that improve light sensitivity by around 16%.
