Samsung expects to launch QD displays in the second half of 2021

Samsung Display Co., Ltd., South Korea's major display maker, is expected to produce its next-generation displays in the second half of 2021, industry sources said Tuesday, according to Yonhap News Agency.

Samsung Display will release pilot products of its quantum-dot (QD) display for TVs and monitors this month and send them to customers for further testing.

Samsung hopes QD displays will strengthen its profitability in the large display panel sector after its exit from the LCD business.
