Samsung SDI to invest in expanding its Malaysian lithium battery plant capacity

According to media reports, Samsung Group's s battery maker Samsung SDI plans to invest 200 billion won in expanding cylindrical lithium battery capacity at its Malaysia plant. The company is considering additional spending to increase the battery output of its Malaysian plant to 4GWh per year.

Samsung SDI is a battery maker owned by the Samsung Group, which has electric vehicle battery plants in South Korea, China, and Malaysia. The company's electric vehicle customers include Ford and BMW.
