Asia Tech Wire (Aug 1) -- Samsung Electronics and its largest labor union have failed to reach an agreement on wage talks, according to Yonhap News Agency.

It is unclear whether the two sides will resume negotiations soon, but the National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU) said it will continue its strike.

Samsung Electronics management and the NSEU have been in three days of negotiations since Monday, with their last talks failing to reach an agreement last week.

The NSEU is demanding a 5.6% increase in basic pay for all members, guaranteed vacations on the union's founding day, and compensation for financial losses caused by the strike.

Samsung Electronics, emphasizing its commitment to a win-win labor-management relationship, offered a 5.1% wage increase.

Although the strike by NSEU members has lasted for more than twenty days since early July, Samsung Electronics reported minimal impact on production.
