Asia Tech Wire (Aug 22) -- A news story about the "death of a robot from overwork" sparked a lot of discussion in South Korea at the beginning of July.

Korean netizens called it a "robot's death from overwork" after the "Civil Servant Robot No. 1" at Gumi City Council in Gyeongsangbuk-do rolled down a flight of stairs and broke down.

Gumi City Council introduced the robot in August 2023, responsible for delivering mail and administrative documents.

The local government not only issued a civil service license for the robot, but also held an official appointment ceremony.

However, the "civil servant robot" had an accident less than a year after it took up the job.

Many South Korean netizens chortled from the perspective of a laborer, "It seems that the work is too hard."
